No weight change, which is a good thing, means I have not put on any weight due to me not being able to work out much this week, xmas got me on edge, running around every where, by that I mean drive, lol

Merry Christmas, all.

I weighed yesterday, and unbelievably, even after a few days in Vegas, no dives last week, and only one day in the gym, I was down: -1.2 lb loss, despite a buffet and even a Carnegie Deli pastrami sandwich.

At the buffet, I ate mainly sushi, soup and salad, and I stretched the pastrami out over two days.

I did some stair walking, just up and down repeatedly while our party was waiting in line for a show.

I was upgraded on the flights, but gave the seat in first to my wife, so no starchy airline food, just fruit and other healthy snacks I brought with.

I ate well, no doubt, but I ate thoughtfully, not mindlessly.

So, I am at 217.6, down 32.4 from 250.0 on 8/28/2010. Average loss is just under two pounds a week.

Anyway, as long as the trend continues down, I am happy. Best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season.

Just goes to show you, exercise, while essential for maintaining or gaining fitness, is of much less importance to fat loss than good eating habits.

The formula is simple, really, but the discipline is difficult indeed.Consumed Calories < Burned Calories = Fat Loss (not to be confused with weigh loss... which also includes water loss and muscle loss)

Great job on continuing to march on your objectives.

OK - Apparently I'm a little behind on this, but I'd like to take this up for 2011. I'm 45 years old - 5'10'' tall and weigh in at 190 lbs. According to my GP I'm about 15 to 20 lbs more than i should be.
Today is the reality check. Tomorrow the Planning day( Only because I'm working most of the day and have back to back Meetings in the evening). Jan 30 is the day of execution. Is anyone with me on this?
So it begins...

Last weigh-in of 2010:

I lost -1.2 lb this week. No dives and only one gym day. I had a steak sandwich one night, but otherwise stayed on my plan. That makes me down almost two and a half pounds for the two week holiday period. I started this on 8/28 weighing 250.0 lb and am now at 216.4 lb, total loss of 33.6 lb.

Back in August I was still trying to squeeze into 38" pants, but had bought one pair of 40s, kind of a psychological tipping point for me. Two days ago I bought a pair of 34s, as 36s had got too big.

My wetsuit is no longer working very well, too much room for cold water to get in. I will get a new one when I get back from Thailand in March. Quality problems.

So, what about a Fitness Challenge for 2011 thread? Bob?

Welcome to the game DS.

Yeah....DS you might be a little behind bud. If you read back a dozen or so pages you'll see most of the guy here have a running start a 2011. At 5'10" and 45yo, 190lbs is already good if you have a low BMI, or Body fat %. I always felt the best when I was around 200lbs and under 15% bf @ 5'10".

To everybody else, sorry I haven't been around to support ya'll. I've been a little distracted, my weight stabilized @ 190, I'm still watching the diet pretty close and continuing routine work outs, just not pushing as hard now. I actually hit a total of 152lbs lost but stabilized @ 150. I think I'm going to hold here until the end of the month then push the excercise up to get ready for spring.

The distraction is girls...:eyebrow: I figured out I could actually get a date now.

Happy New Year everybody...
