Mostly I nearly always breathed less than my buddy, so the additional gas wasn't necessary... and maybe I'm lazier.

I was diving big cave at first, so thought if I had to choose, I'd rather bigger tanks to work in as many routes through the bigger caves as I could... I dive alot smaller cave now, and the big tanks can be a deal breaker in some of them. So I have more options now with different caves, than larger routes, and I don't have to fight with any additional weight on land.

Just say it, Mat, you have girlie lungs!!!

Not that that's a bad thing!! :D

Good thing you qualified that, or I'd have to come :kicknut:.

Opinions on diving two Worthington X7-100's for sidemount?

Good tanks, maybe not as much capacity as LP85s with good fills, but if you can't get good fills... maybe the better option of the two.

Thanks . . . I'm learning you guys in cave country have some really interesting ideas of what -are "good fills". :w-t-f:

I like 3442psi, thank you. :)

There's a saying that the pressure on the LP tanks is not the rated pressure but rather the turn pressure of the dive...

Don't get Faber 85s. They are terrible SM tanks. They get way too light and floaty as you breathe them down. 95s are heavy enough to not hav e that effect with air or nitrox. However, they are terrible trimix SM tanks. I prefer my Faber 95s over my Worthington 85s. They are much easier to handle in the waterm even with the extra 3/4 inch...

What makes the 95's terrible for sidemount and trimix? Can there be that much difference in the weight of the gas?
