:hm: Y'all are funny . . . I asked a question to find if there were any legal or moral issues with sharing Nitrox with an unknown diver . . .

I'm sharing whatever I have to get them, and me, to the surface safely, legal or moral issues be damned.

Legal and moral issue with them TAKING the regulator? They took it, any problems are their fault.

Now (outside of your intended question), if you were slinging 100% and were at 100 feet and they grabbed the reg and for whatever reason the bottle was on (I agree with the charge it and turn it off), you would have at least a moral obligation to get them to switch to a different gas.

There is a whole big discussion as to the differences between pony, bail-out, stage and deco bottles. Using accepted standard terminology helps in discussions. Unfortunately, some people's accepted standard differs from others.

if you were slinging 100% and were at 100 feet and ............ for whatever reason the bottle was on

That would come into the Farm Animal Stupid Category. While O2 toxicity is very variable I sure wouldn't want to take my chances on a pO2 of 4.0 for any length of time.

There is NO reason to have an O2 bottle on at depth.

They would if they were getting it from me ... I don't carry a pony bottle ... I carry a donkey bottle ... :D

You forgot your most famous quote that goes along with that....

from:
Frankly, I'd suck a fart out of a donkey's ass if that's what it took to make it to the surface alive ...

And just out of spite I'm not going to tell you why I have different gasses.
