My full foots are big & stiff. When I use them to snorkel I need socks as they rub my feet. The split fins seem to fit well-maybe I'll try them with socks also. Is the genearl idea that splits aren't so good anyway for surface swims?

To each his own I guess.

I used my skin diving kit when I did it....I have some Tusa full foot splits designed for skin diving....so I was more comfortable and felt more "free", for lack of a better term.

You just don't want something large and clunky splashing and dragging along on the surface. Scuba fins/booties aren't designed for that.

Of course, they will work just fine if that's all ya got. Just not as well as something designed for the task.

Good job!

Now on to the 800 and Tired Diver Tow?

Stamina tests all finished.

4 on both the 800m snorkel & diver tow. 16 in total

Pleased with that

Good luck to anyone about to do them. They aren't as bad as you may fear

Due to pool closure, I'll be attempting the stamina tests in an 11.6 metre pool. Silly question--Does anyone who has done this have any advice other than to just keep turnin' and keep count? I would figure the tired diver tow would be a pain with so many turns. I think the 800 would be about 70 laps.

Just completed my last stamina skill (100y tow) tonight! Tired but overall I got enough points to pass it (14 pts)! Off to complete the theory part and take theory test and complete the internship and whatnot is needed.

TMHeimer - The above is a bit confusing. Tired diver tow is 100m/yd - that's not too many turns in the pool you described. Remember, it does not have to be a "tow", it can also be "push". The "tired" diver can also assist in helping with turns, etc. - they are tired, not dead.

Ours were done in pool not much larger. The folks timing the swim counted laps.

Yeah, I will do the push. I did this months ago when I first tried the test and know I lost time on the turns (only 3 turns in the big pool). But I'm a bit concerned how much I'll lose with 7 turns now.

I did tank tow (2 laps - 3 turns) and did 2m47s.
