If you think it does, then it does.Does nitrox make you feel better?
That's the point of taking a nitrox class.People need to understand the relations of there mix to the MOD that comes with it.

There is considerable loose banter concerning scientific topics on SB. I attempt to reference my statements when apppropriate, fully realizing that that my arguments will be dismissed by many who invoke a different standard.

Being a scientist and physician is often a major obstacle for my active participation on SB, all I can do is try.
I guess in the end, CatFishBob has it right. Does nitox make you feel better? "If you think it does, then it does."
Good diving, Craig
Yes. It would have been a better discussion if the original post asked whether reducing your nitrogen load makes you feel better. I don't think anybody here thinks nitrox has any benefit beyond lowering your nitrogen absorption for a given depth and time. Its clearly all comes down to how its used.
1) Are you using nitrox for the extended ranges, meaning you are still diving to with in the NDL of the mix then sure you may not feel better your still loaded with nitrogen coming out of the water.
2) Are you like me and will dive a mix but with in AIR NDL. Then yes you are going to come out feeling better, your no wheres near as nitrogen loaded coming out how could you not feel that much better?
I agree when i play a dive around a mix and maximize my bottom on that mix then no i don't feel all that much better. However when i do simple dives based on Air tables ( due to my buddies ) but dive it on a enriched mix then yes i come out that much better, And it is far from a Placebo effect.
As Ive said before wether i dive nitrox with air profiles or air on the same profile (and site) doesnt matter, I feel zero difference. And that applies to 6-7 days of 3 dives a day as well..Its clearly all comes down to how its used.
