That's great. I quoted you on a new thread in General Travel: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/ge...redits-if-fares-go-down-after-purchasing.htmlShe told me that Continental's policy was to do this up to 30 days from purchase but only on fares from their website.
Okaaay, a little more information about this. One one hand, there is some truth to the way they present the fares after all - enough to keep them out of jail anyway. The base fare without fuel surcharges can be quoted that way it seems. Here is the breakdown of a ticket I purchased today; click for larger...The flight number is 196 LV to HOU, Fl 1802 Hou to RTB $432+ $326 (-$19) = 739.70 Continental AL.......Jan 9-16 2010.....I checked....
found on OneTravel.com, the first flight listed, LAS to RTB....
Click on Book It, gives you choice of fare and taxes.
I am learning how to do this from reading what you guys have written here, so I am just wondering. Thanks.....Larry
In initial pricing, Continental.com priced the base fare and fuel surcharges as a combined amount, but on the final legal receipt they are separated.
What Onetravel.com does is low ball you the base fare, then add on the fuel surcharges after that so they can sneak in a booking fee that other sites do not require...!
They try to win you over by giving you a $19 discount on that $24 rip-off, but the bottom line is $594.70 vs $585.70 so they are including a $9 add-on, not just a $5 net fee. I guess it's in the list somewhere? Still, pretty sleezy...!

I doubt that they sell many tickets, but they sell enough to attact more complaints than those I listed earlier.....
