I wish that was the same with the eucalypts here...

I know! Me too. I am so sorry!
Are things getting any better at all?

The larger fires are still burning, but most are in bushland areas now and not threatening towns at the moment. The number of people who died in them is still going up...so very sad for families and friends.

I hope the weather stays calm for the firefighters. The loss of life, human and wildlife, is terrible. I understand the feeling. My house burned to the ground when I was a child. We thought my Dad was in it at the time. Luckily, he had to work late and hadn't been there. We lost the dog, though. I don't think anyone can understand the true feeling of losing everything you have, until you realize that you don't even have a toothbrush...

Hey Sas!

Hey Liv!!

How goes it??

Just got home from grocery shopping. Best time to shop is 2am. No one but the insomniacs!

We do too, although mid-week is looking difficult for them.

Yes, it must be the most awful feeling to have nothing all of a sudden, I can't even imagine. I'm glad your Dad was okay, but it's still a terrible loss that you suffered.

Hey Tig. Yes, insomniacs, we get the almost empty supermarkets! ;)

I will hope for the best for them.

It is. Remember, if you are near any of these poor folks, that sometimes, the smallest thing can mean the most. I still have a stuffed animal a neighbor's kid gave me. I loved stuffed animals, and was holding this burnt Koala Bear that I had dug out of the rubble, when this boy Ashley, walked up and gave me his favorite stuffed animal, a floppy legged hound dog named Memo. I still have both the Koala and Memo. In fact, Memo is my daughter's favorite stuffed animal and she sleeps with him every night.. It is funny what strikes you.

I'll remember that image, thank you for sharing that.

I sat with a few people last week at the Red Cross relief centre here, and it was heartbreaking. Most looked in shock...and one woman just sat with tears running down her face, silently crying. I had no words. :depressed:
