I was lucky enough to catch these mating whale sharks out of the corner of my eye. When I say eye, of course I mean my mind's eye, since all we could see were shades of this color.

WOW Dreaming in color, but whale sharks are only black & white!!!!:rofl3:
Still I wish I was out on the Capt Tony dive as the bait balls look fantasitic. I dove in the area on Sat am too Had an EAST current on the 1st dive & a ripping north on the second (if I could have seen anything -viz ~5ft- it would have been fun)

The baitball was! Here are more from the other day...

Hey! The water has improved a great deal since Saturday, but it's still not so great. Viz was about 30 feet today and blue, but hazy. There was a very slight south current and water temps by my machine were at 74 degrees F. Seas were about 2 feet or so, but were building as we were heading in. Lobsters were around, but not thick, and alot of small ones.

The vis was kinda foggy, but at least it was blue, and there were no snotty particles like there were the other day.

Okay! The water's trying to clear up again, I think. We had about 40 foot vis for the most part, 76 degrees. We bumped into yesterday's 74 degree 30 foot vis water on the beginning of the second dive though, but it improved as we moved north. The seas were 2-4 feet and we had a slight north current. There were lots of little baby hogs around.

Here's how the water looked.

overbite.jpg

This is one of the piglets. His upper snout cast a funny shadow over his lower jaw from my strobe, and made it look like he's got some kind of a crazy overbite, but he was really okay.

Hey, real quick before I go to work... Yesterday we had pretty much the same conditions. Seas were 2-3', viz was about 40 feet or so, water temp was 75 degrees. Here are some pics.

There have been lots of morays around lately.

Imindeep found a buttless trumpet fish.

Awesome pics, Kev! I can't wait to go diving with you guys after Christmas... I'm signing up for Tuesday the 30th.

Hey Kev!

When your in the water tomorrow for the second of your morning dives..... keep an eye out for any behaviour changes in the marine life. Or possibly a vibration in the water.

I want to know if they can feel me getting closer.
My flight leaves at 10:40.

See you Tuesday!

I think there are openings for the Tuesday morning dives with me, Phil, and Jrock if anyone else wants to come along. :)
