What? No Omegas? I wear Omega Seamaster, in and out of water. Have this watch 6 yrs now and has never stopped or had any problems, good thing about it is that winds on kenetic motion so it doesnt have a battery to die out during a dive. plus its got that cool clasp that open up just enough to go over a drysuit cuff/glove.

Tag Heuer for me... although I don't bring it down with me.

I don't remember where I read this, but I read that some aggressive fish are attracted to the shiny metal bands on watches...Rolex, Tag, etc... cuz it looks like a small fish to them (I guess the links shine the same way as scales do)

So I try to avoid wearing anything shiny underwater.

no one mentioned the swiss made St.Moritz? Thats strange with the quality of these watches and the reasonable price for swiss automatic action dive watch.

Tag Heuer Kirium, supposedly good to 200m.

I definitely bring it down! It hasn't been 'cuda bait yet...

My 100M watch, did fine at 143', and has spent lots of time below 100'. I wouldn't trust it to those depths after replacing the battery, but the battery life is long enough, and I put enough dings into the crystal watch face that it is time to get a new one after 3+ years when the battery wears out. YMMV

Great, I'm happy for you that you can use it at this depth but as far as I remember, It's not build for it so it might stop working while underwater.
At that depth I tek dive and I wouldn't want any problem with my equipment even though I have a backup (besides the buddy). You know what?
I wouldn't want any problem with my equipment even on a sportive dive.
And yes, there butteries last a very long time before the need for replacement and you can check before placing the watch to replace the butteries that they will seel it for diving and of corse, on the first dive after, have a backup.

I've had pretty good luck with my Citizen Aqualand Eco-Drive. I solo dive some, so it's a good back-up depth gauge.

This is where I get made fun of...
I wear a Rolex Sea-Dweller on land and a Timex Ironman in the drink... The Sea-Dweller is just too pretty to bang around on the rocks!

Craig.

I have been wearing a faithful Seiko Sports (water resistant to 150 meters) for the past 10 years and decided not too long ago to treat myself to a nice piece of timekeeping. Looked at various models including Omega Seamaster, Tag Heuer Professional (and their new Aquagraph 2000...) and finally settled on a Breitling Super Ocean. Nice craftsmanship, great looking blue dial, helium valve, water resistant to 5000ft... Will I take it down? My Seiko will probably still see more bottom time than my new acquisition. But boy, does it look great!!!

Cheers!

A Seiko chronograph, branded as a Beuchat Genesis. $40 off ebay brand new.

I also made a few bucks selling operating on ebay as well.

Marc

I have the same watch. Looks nice and works well. of course I am not too soncerned with it since I bought a wrist computer though.

Is the Beuchat Genesis really a seiko watch? If so it really was a good deal then.
