Ok, now I love NJ diving as much or more than anyone, but let's be honest:

- Shore diving in Bonaire is great
- Shore diving in Maui is great
- Shore diving in California is great

Shore diving in NJ? A nice way to get a dive in without paying charter costs, maybe. Fun way to spend an hour? Perhaps. But great? Dunno about that.

:eyebrow:

Shore diving in SE Florida is Grrrrrreat!

Yeah, there is that. The inlet doesn't leave at 7am promptly!

But don't sell yourself short on training needed for NJ boat dives. AOW is all that's really needed, and your profile shows you as Rescue. As for gear, a rented pony is really all you need beyond OW gear.

If you ever want to come give it a try, give me a shout, happy to hook you up!
But don't you really need a drysuit? I'm not really worried about depth. I'm more concerned about being cold. And vis. I really don't like 5 feet of vis.

We have a fair number of folks who dive wet. Late August/September especially.

Five foot of viz? Sometimes, but usually better than that. Hell, last year we had several days of 75' of viz on the Stolt.

Had 50+ on the Algol few weeks ago. Can't remember the last dive with 5 ft of viz. Usually at least 20.

Wow. 20 ft!! That's about the same as 5 to me.:rofl3:

OK, I am going to check this out with Blue Water Divers. I know last year they had the intro to wreck dives. (Isn't the Gypsy Blood the boat you're not allowed to bring Cokes on board?:D) I thought about doing it but I really want to drive down the day before and stay over somewhere. I couldn't find a roommate last year.

Cokes??? I've always heard No BANANAS!!! but Cokes???

There is one boat owned by a guy who works for Pepsi. I've heard stories about his dumping out coolers that had Cokes in them, or any Coke products, like their water, I think Aquafina.

I ALWAYS bring two bananas with me on a half-day boat trip. No Coke though; I gave them up cold turkey over 10 years ago.

Correct - "No Coke - Pepsi!"

:D

Good news is we supply all the free Pepsi products you could ever want!
