I will be traveling to Australia on business in April and was uncertain what to do for diving. The big question I had - do I go to the GBR or not. My conference is in Coolum, which now I know is great for diving the HMAS Brisbane. My wife will be flying over on frequent flier miles either the week before or after my conference.

hehehe That's what we're doing! My BF is working but we are flying up a week early to dive. & I'm having my own private adventure getting there on FF miles...

We get to Sydney on the 16th (sat) in the afternoon. We are there thu Tuesday the 19th. I fly out in the AM and the BF flies out that evening. Lucky dog is going to Kuala Lumpur to keep working before coming home to Fl.

As far as the flights to/from here to you... YEAH* CHOKE* why do you think I'm blowing 100,000 FF miles and a detour via China??? :11:

No def plans yet... BF is traveling again, this time in Orlando & I just got back from Atlanta. So this weekend is the last bit of planning when we see each other.

I just got my cell phone unlocked to work internationally!! Woo Hoo!! (will make things easier for me)

Hey! If you DO make it to So Fla... we have our own boat to dive from! you wouldn't do our boat either????

well what GilLess was telling me, we have to do a boat for florida

i thought, being florida, being surrounded by water there were dives EVERYWHERE but he was saying there wasnt.... very curious county you have

for me, sydney is all shore diving - my last boat dive in sydney was 10yrs ago

so we are lucky, unless its really bad you can catch a dive somewhere here

There are!!! Especially ft Lauderdale. We have three reefs running parallel to the beach. The first one you can shore dive. The Florida Conchs meet to shore dive plenty!

(But the boat is sooooooo easy. you drive it out to the bouys, tie up and jump in)

Besides, loading gear from the truck to boat beats dragging it through the sand anyday. No??
