Yes, you're absolutely right about that but unless I miss read it, I believe some were using it after the fact along with the antibiotics to help with the ear infection.

Never put peroxide in your ear! An Otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist) once told me that putting peroxide in you ear can cause severe damage resulting in deafness. Usually it causes no problems, but why take a chance?

Isn't that what the ear wax removal stuff is mostly made of?

I have had multiple painful ear infections as a result of diving in the past. Some have taken several course of antibiotics to cure. Since starting to use ear beer about 5 years ago I have not had one and I have been diving more frequently in that time.

My doc knows I am a diver, and whenever I need to replenish my supply he complies with just a phone call. I get Acetic Acid Otic Solution USP. 2% I use it after every dive; it works great, especially when doing multiples on a live a board. It does not cost $120.

i use sab-opticort ear\eye drops

works great i find i get swimers ear every year when the weather gets colder.. just from takeing showers but it usaly clears up fast and i can feel it comeing really soon and know when its infected because i get them all the time..

Take prevention even further backwards - BEFORE you dive, you can put a few drops of olive oil in your ear which repels water. And then afterwards, the alcohol/vinegar mix just to clear away any moisture that is in there. Makes a bit of a salad dressing of your head, but anything to stave off infection.
