I know it should be a no-brainer when the manual specifies a VARTA CR1/2AA 3.0V battery to be used in the Suunto Transmitter, but I'm having a tough time finding a 3.0V version of that battery around here. You lucky folks back in the States have all those online battery specialist shops. But, all I can find out here in Hong Kong so far is the 3.6V version of that lithium battery size.
Would +0.6 extra volts from the 3.6V battery fry the transmitter's circuit? Or should I just play it safe with a $300+ transmitter even if means ordering the original VARTA battery from the states or Europe. I know, common sense tells me not to even try it, but I was wondering if anyone here has done it successfully...
