The Wreck of City of Salisbury in the Boston Harbor

Hilarious! I finally checked this sticky, and after two years (almost to the day), it has a total of TWO posts (three now). Not really sure if this merits "sticky status"... So come on, what are your favorite NE dive sites. Here are a few of my favorites:

Shore Dives
-Cathedral Rocks (by far my favorite)
-The others (really, they all pale in comparison to CR)
[Ok, Folly, Old Garden Beach, and Ft. Wetherill are all very nice, too!]

Boat Dives
-Burnham's
-SNL
-Poling
-Egg Rock
-Half Way Rock
-Grave's Lighthouse

Looking forward to diving the Boston Harbor wrecks next summer, along with exploring sites other than those on Cape Ann. So many places to dive, so little time...

Hi Tim

Where do you dive the river?

Also, what kind of things have you found, for bottles or otherwise, just wondering.

Thanks

Parker

All boat dives:

Satan Rock - 42-30'37"N 070-48'02"W
Good lobstering, interesting and varied bottom

Halfway rock is about 1 nautical W-SW of Satans, I have only been to Halfway once and it was miserable. I missed the tide and the current was too strong. I THINK its probably a good dive, but you have to hit it at slack tide.

Middle Breakers - 42-31'09"N 070-45'51"W
LOOKS good, but haven't been there yet. :) Ran over it and the sounder and it looks good tho. :) There are a BUNCH of good looking dive spots in that area.

BooHoo Ledge - 42-33'50" 070-44'52"W
Nice dive spot. 15'-80' depths. There's a wreck there as well, but I have not seen it myself. Nice ledge, very interesting.

If the wind is blowing, you can tuck in behind Great Egg rock or Kettle Island which are both just West of BooHoo ledge, both are good dive spots as well.

If you need to test new kit or the first dive of the season, N-NW of BooHoo is Graves Island, West of Graves is a nice shallow (20'-30') sandy bottom, and if you get close into Graves Beach its also sandy and even shallower. Not a terribly interesting dive site, but I like it when testing new gear, first dive of the season, practicing dive skills, etc.

I could go on all day.....

Boat dive - Dry Salvages off of Gloucester. Good terrain to poke around in with the possible resident seal or two.

Boat dive - Duck Island, Isle of Shoals, NH. Great seal dive in the cove.

Boat Dives - Burnham Rock and Paddock Rock. Both offer unique rock formations to swim through. Paddock Rock is one of the prettiest sites I've seen to date with some soft corals I had not seen anywhere else. Burnham Rock depths to 140 feet and Paddock Rock 75 - 80 feet.

Shore dives: Old Garden Beach, Cathedral Rocks, Portland Head Light (Ft Williams) and of course Nubble Light.

Boat Dives:

Otter Point, Acadia National Park
Egg Rock, Bar Harbor Maine
Ironbound Island, Bar Harbor Maine

Shore Dives:

Somes Sound - MDI Maine

In New England, my favorite dives are:

Wreck of the Baleen (North Shore of Boston)
Poling Bow (off Gloucester)
USS Bass (Rhode Island)
U-853 (Off Block Island)
