I am a dongle free zone. I tie a double overhand knot, burn it and call it good. And, BTW, I use the kidney dump valve for most of my trimming. A knotted string is all I need and never gets hung up under or on something. You can see the piece of cave line to the lower right. That one is actually a bit long, shorter is better than long.
The only thing I hate more than dump valve pull dongles is those plastic D-rings on the ends of adjustable BC straps and maybe those high profile shoulder pull dumps.
When I cut the dongle from my wife's wing she fussed and fussed so I went to Hobby Lobby and bought those letter bracelet charms and voila:
Not nearly as tangle prone as a chunky dongle but still-----, like you know. Whatever it takes to make the women folks happy
