It doesn't say it's only for the new models though.

I see a 2 year service interval in the manuals for the Perdix 2 and Petrel 3.

I see a 5 year service interval in the manual for the NERD2.

There is no service interval specified in the manuals for the Predator or Petrel or Perdix, but I recall, when they were current, reading elsewhere and being told by Dive-tronix that they were supposed to be serviced every 5 years.

Where do you see a service interval specified that gives an indication that it applies to older models?

According to your statement, I'd say a second hand Shearwater Peregrine is your weapon of choice. I say second hand because brand new, it's a bit above 500 € (in France at least).

About the Suunto Eon : have you ever tried a Suunto computer ? The interface is really different from other computers, some find it convenient, other don't. As far fas RGBM is concerned, it's more conservative (some say punishing) than the Bühlmann ZHL16, so you might not like it.
Why not just get the perdix?

Under 'Petrel' they don't say that it's only for the 3. I don't know if it was changed. First time I looked was when my Petrel 2 crapped out last month.

I emailed Shearwater regarding the service for the Teric. I got an almost instant response. I was unaware of the 2 year interval. Though I bought my Teric in May 2019, I don't believe I've had one for 2 years yet.

"I hope you're loving your Teric. Shearwater recommends service of your dive computer every 2 years by an authorized service centre.

And that recommendation is based on 50-99 dives and no experience with their EU serivce. When my SW computers had less than 100 dives I thought they were great too...
How many times are you going to post this kind of thing? Saying it over and over and over doesn't make it more true or more important. You are very close to just bashing SW rather than providng information.

SW Cult Club. I truly can't believe the intensity of the cultist mentality here.

So much BS here, I don't have time to respond now but I'll do that as soon as I am back home.

Not sure of your point.
Lots of folks like SW; a few don't, especially if they don't live in North America.
The issue is providing information about WHY you like SW or don't; often the issue revolves around the service available. We hear positives (essentially always) from North American residents plus some others; we hear negatives from elsewhere....sometimes repeated over and over, kind of like voting more than once.
What is NOT known is how many SW computers are out there with no problems.

What I said was true and can be verified by asking SW.
