...you really let a major problem that could have been avoided with a $ 10 crotch strap sabotage your enjoyment of a BIG BUCKS / MONTH LONG trip to the other side of the world ?

Umm....where did I say my trip was ruined? Absolutely not. I just had an aggravation that was cured by wearing my weight belt upside down. It allowed deeper access to my waist so that the waist strap held better. That's all. SHEESH!

I can't imagine a crotch strap hassle factor being noticable relative to the logistics/effort of traveling across the globe, especially with major UW camera gear and then having to fool with UW camera gear all during the trip. I'll admit I can't even imagine diving without a crotch strap, that's how important it is to my enjoyment of diving.....I use the quick release version, so maybe you are unfamiliar with that style ?

Not unfamiliar, just didn't seem to find one in the wilds of Indonesia. I may be looking into one. Why all the drama?

I am thinking to get either the Zuma Pro or the Cressi Air Travel. I could not find specification details of the Zuma Pro on aqualung website. Is it because it is limited edition?

The Zuma Pro is a limited production version eligible to only instructors and DMs... I don't know if it is still available.

There has a been a few popping up on eBay lately. I was able to get the exact one you're looking for. Just keep an eye out.

I use one for teaching in a pool 2 times a week for teaching. My students all use Waves.
Its very good, materials withstanding the chlorine very well. Some skills I switch to a Wave as the Zuma not good for a demo. ( kit removal and replacement and proper weighting). The absence of aCumberland I like, but when teaching correct weighting with a belt I swap to wave so that student can see correct positioning and not be confused by the zuma waist belt.

Hi Allison,
Unfortunately, there isn't a magic solution here. Unless you are very tall (long-waisted), there just isn't room for a pocket-style weight belt and the waistband of the Zuma. The location of one or both gets compromised. Since the Zuma locates the integrated weights on your waist, what is the purpose of using a weight belt in addition? Isn't it worth getting rid of your belt to achieve better fit with the Zuma?

I am very comfortable doffing my gear at depth to make adjustments, repair the leaky rear purge etc. For me, this is a safety issue. I don't want to be a cork when I take off the tank, hanging on upside down to work on the gear. I have had to do this several times and, with the weight belt, it was an easy exercise. To me, integrated weights are not as safe and a real pain to boat crews having to lift that stuff.
