Halcyon uses these on their BC's. I use them on my BC & regs. Have never had a problem.

Wondering how you guys apply them. If you reverse and pull back on the strap when tightening then yes I can see you weakening the latch bar and prematurely ruin your connection. I pull parallel with pliers and haven't had one break on me. I don't ever use these with tying items though. Just Regs & BC's. They are weaker if they aren't snug, the lock also doesn't have as much structural security against flex, which is why I only use them for regs & BC's. If they're snug they don't flex.
