So with the hot weather here I'm diving mostly without my gloves, and was pulling myself along some railroad tracks :) and well now I can't hold a pen LOL. The're getting better but i scratched em up pretty bad. I guese i should get a lighter pair of gloves for the warm weather.

Well dive and you learn they'll get better ;) It was a fun dive anyway been looking for thoughs damn tracks for three weeks and finally found them.

I have also been told that the Zebra muscles help to naturally improve visibility by keeping th algae in check.

I've heard the same thing. Being filter feeders, they naturally clean the water by eating the algae. I'm no freshwater biologist, but I'm sure there's also a cost to the critters.

zebra mussels do help the viz but thats about the only positive thing they do. the food chain starts with algae and by messing with that, they make for less food for everyone all the way up the ladder. not to mention they get all over our wrecks. theyre sharp little buggers too, ive patched my drysuit in a couple places from light contact.

Yeah I don't mind the visablty improvement but their sharp :11: LOL I just like blaming other things for when i get hurt their this weeks scape goat :) I should of had my glove on.

You guys would miss them if they were gone. We had them in a local quarry and the DNR killed them over the winter. Now the vis in the quarry is 10' on a really good day.
