I bought the Zeagle exactly for the rip-cord system, although I've never had to use it.  As a former Sky-diver, the idea of pulling ONE cord to empty the weights is very appealing.  Imagine sky-diving and having to pull two rip-cords to get the chute out?
Secondly, I've never used the weight pouches from Zeagle, I just toss a couple of soft weight (already in bags) into each side and zip it up. Works just fine.
