I don't think it would be appropriate to bet cash on ScubaBoard, but I will put up a Zeagle t-shirt against a "local t-shirt" from your area for anyone who dares go against Shaq Daddy and Flash Wade!!! :D

Okay, you're on. But, on the infinitesmally remote chance that you win, you'll have to wait until I get back to S.A. in august for a "special" texas T shirt.

DNK:
Zeagle may not have the absolute best numbers for tech diving, but for recreational diving(meaning pretty much anything but cave and deep(>130feet)) you can't go wrong with them. Its like compareing any top of the line item. To most mortals the differences are unnoticable so the marketing weinies have to test them both to extreams to find any difference.

DNK...just curious, why do you feel that Zeagle regs don't perform all that well for tech diving ("Zeagle may not have the absolute best numbers for tech diving...")?

As I recall, their Flathead VI/ZX for example has a published WOB of 0.91 Joule/Liter at 198' depth w/ 750 psi at inlet)...pretty respectable. (I have not been able to find Apeks' current comparable performance data for their ATX100/200... anyone know it?).

I ask about your statement DNK not to be argumentative...again just curious. In fact, I have an older Zeagle Apeks FH6 (TX100) and several Apeks regs and was planning to buy a new Zeagle FH6/ZX...I do a fair amount of deep diving and so if I missed something in my understanding of Zeagle's performance, I'd be grateful to learn more (Scott...since you've been following the thread I was a little surprised you did not respond (maybe you missed it)...what are your thoughts on this issue?).

Thank you.

BTW, if you're looking for a Zeagle reg set up, you should try give Dan's Dive Shop in St. Catarines, Ontario a call. They had an excellent deal on them, maybe they'll still be able to offer it to you. Price was around CDN$400. ;)

I missed it...sorry.

Truth is, I will put our FH6/ZX up against the Apeks reg any day of the week. I have personal friends that take them to 200fsw+ daily, and occasionally they go to 400fsw+. I personally have no need to go that deep, but I wouldn't let my good friends do it if I wasn't 100% confident. People forget that it was Zeagle who built up the Apeks name in the USA, and when we started making our own regs we improved on an already good design. I will never say anything negative about the Apeks line, as they are great regs - but ours are equally as good, imho.

Everyone has opinions - we may not agree 100%, but that is life on the internet forum... ;)

Ok, I got this thread off topic, and I apologize. All bets are closed. Doos has SA, MatBoy has SA, Shark needs to pick between PHX and SA. I got Miami. If the team you pick wins it all, I send you a Zeagle tee, if Miami wins, you send me a tee from your business, a local dive shop, cool bar, or whatever...done deal. We will handle the details afterwards by PM, as to save the rest of the board the pain of reading it...cool?

Guess I'll be a little different and go with my local boys PHX, although I don't think they can do it without Joe Johnson for long (no bench). Personally I just like to see some good series'.

Sorry last off topic remark.

Actually I was at this thread for a reason, I had been leaning towards the Zeagle Envoy Deluxe regulator, based on performance reviews, but the 50 degree thing had me concerned. I'll be diving CA mostly, which is in the 50's most of the time, but can dip into the 40's at times/depths. Glad to see some real life experience with this reg in the 40's. Thanx
