I have the Ranger BC with the ripcoard system and the two yellow pouches that hold the weights (Expensive little devils.) I also so had the saddle strap added on. It's a nice combo. I do think that there is another weight release system available, however; I like the ripcoard system.

I did decide that when drysuit diving I don't like to place 38 to 40 Lbs of weights in the BC pockets. So, I bought a DUI shoulder harness weight & trim system which I use instead. It's a little pricy...but I've had trouble with hip weight belts slding off, etc. This one will not slide off. Overall I do like my Ranger though! The saddle strap is a good investment, however one must remember to hook it up :-P

Hi WolfEl (one of my favorite critters by the way), ya you do have to remember to connect the strap... I went on a "Ladies Day" dive this weekend where the kind gentlemen of the club showed their appreciation of us by acting as gear caddies & feeding us lunch, as I was standing on the beach the guys tentatively ask "So... do you use that saddle strap?" though they would have glady helped me don it :).

Yeah -Kate, I'd volunteer too. I've forgotten it once so far. out of sight out of mind. I had hooked it up and made the straps short for storage...so they were not visable to my dive buddy. I'm also from your area and dive PS.
