Is this a good reg for cold water? If I get one with a DIN first stage with a yoke adapter will the first stage stick out very far? Will it hit the back of my head?

It is a fantastic reg for cold water. I have been using one for about 4 or 5 years. It's been through ice dives, deep great lakes wreck dives. If I could only choose one single reg for every and all uses, I would choose DS-V's. As for the Yoke adaptor, it might bump the back of your head a bit, but that can usually be worked around by adjusting your tank height in your BC.
