i was wondering how this system works. i noticed theres only one pull handle im guessing the red one? oh and why do i need those yellow pouches for weights. i heard if you dont use the yellow pouches the weigths fall through why is that?

There are actually 2 cords attached to the red ripcord handle.
The "cords" are actually a heavy duty nylon string very similar
to weedeater string.
When you pull the handle it pulls both cords and it causes both
weight pouches to open up at the bottom of the BC and lets
the weights fall out.
The weight pouches are not fully enclosed like a velcro or
clipping weight system. There are some gaps at the bottom
of the pockets.

The Yellow pouches are not strictly needed. However if you use
very small hard weights like 1lb or use soft weights they can
slip throught the gaps at the bottom of the weight pouches.

Excellent description! You forgot to mention how easy it is to rethread the system afterward....though I'm hoping to go through my entire dive life never having to release my weights.

The yellow thingies are really a convenience. Put your weights in them & you only have 1 thing on each side to put in & take out, 2 pouches to carry around when out of the BC, rather than a collection of weights. Plus if you do have to ditch, you have a better chance of recovering your weights.

According to Larry at Scubatoys, I am the only person in recorded history to ever have had larger "hard" weights, like 3 or 4 pounders, exit my weight pockets through the bottom. When I did my giant stride entry and hit the water, they apparently tore out the ripcord, and kept on going. I had to re-rig my system (no big deal), but then had to pay the dive op for those lost weights. No problems since using the yellow thiniges, because they help distribute the load.

Zeagle should include these with the purchase price. This would solve 2 things once and for all.

1. No more threads on whether or not one should drop $45 beer credits on them.
2. No more confused end users complaining about weights slipping out of their BC.

Come on Zeagle pony up.

Ah you win.
I think I'll make some out of an old mesh bag and some parachute cord for 75 cents :eyebrow:

I actually lost a set of weights while inside a yellow thingy.
It turned out that the ripcord on the right side weight pocket
of my brigade was not long enough. The cord was just barely
long enough to slip through the last loop. When the wing
was inflated at the surface it would push the weights forward
which would cause the ripcord to slip off the loop
and they would slip out the front even when inside the yellow
thingy.

Once I figured out what the issue was, I took the BC back
to ScubaToys and the BC took a trip home back to Zeagle
and it came back all better with a new longer ripcord.
(Ripcord sould be long enough to push up into and through
the sewn loops on the sidewal of the weight pocket by
about an inch or so)

I was totally impressed with the level of customer service
from both ScubaToys and Zeagle in resolving this for me.
Not sure what went on behind the curtain, but
it was totally painless for me.
