IMHO an SPG + wrist computer is inifinitely superior to the analog cluster(f... *ahem* :p ). Within recreational limits, a backup depth gauge is somewhat unnecessary - you'll only need one when you lose your buddy AND your computer dies mid-dive AND you have to make an ascent without any references... but there are ~$50-$60 swatch scuba watches on ebay with a depth gauge built in, or an analog gauge could be picked up at a similar price and stuffed into a pocket, if you want one.

yea, i think i'm gonna go that route. especially since i was getting a gekko either way. that'll turn out being a cheaper setup than i anticipated.

i ordered the atomic reg and gekko. i asked the guy about miflex for the bc quick connect fitting and he said that is bc specific. i looked around and foung two types of connections. one for bc specific nipples(seaquest and scubapro type) and one for just a quick disconnect(no other specifics). the one i have on my regs now are both the same and the nipple on all 3 bc's are the same. so i think there's two different things out there. i need the hose to connect to the nipple circled in yellow in the pic. would that be a standard quick disconnect fitting? it looks to be. the hose i THINK i need is this one, http://www.leisurepro.com/Prod/XSSQ...eld=Relevance&DescSort=0&Description=on&Hit=1. can some one please verify.

Contact LP and tell them which BC inflator you have. If it is the one that came with the BC the Seaquest specific is what you need. I got the 20 inch for my primary regulator and 48 inch for my Octopus. I did this because I plan to start diving a Vintage Dual Hose and I can swap the Octo between rigs.

so you're saying i need the one that connects to the "seaquest style" nipple?

yep, it's what i thought. the difference is for the octo/inflator things, not the standard inflator. i'll go ahead and get the standard hose. hopefully it screws into the 1st stage ok also.
