Have you seen the 'cold shoe mounts' ? lets you mount the gopro where an external flash would usually go.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have come across that option but the downside is that the position of the GoPro would at times interfere with the position of my strobe. For macro subjects I often position the strobe right in the area that the GoPro would occupy.
