I think we need to have some of our ScubaBoarders who are fluent in flash create a realistic BC simulator (complete with lung graph so you can see where in your lungs you are breathing). It might actually be useful, *and* you could license the source to AquaLung to fix their broken demo. :D

Hmm.. sounds interesting. I may take that on

If you do, would it be something like up and down arrows for ascend and descend (as you'd use your lungs), with "B" and space for a burst of air and deflation, respectively? (Emphasizing deflation, as it is on many/most inflators.) Have a little side-scrolling "terrain" that you get to swim over, and you'd have a "buoyancy simulator" that works like real diving (and might actually teach some people something).

I can see it playing now... You hit "up" to ascend over a little hill on the bottom, but that lets the air in your virtual BC expand too much to compensate (you've bottomed out your lungs). Responding, you hit the deflate key a quick burst or two to reduce your buoyancy, stopping what would've been a runaway ascent otherwise, and getting your lungs back to normal breathing.

It sounds fun. :D

Read the blurb.....basically says if you want to go up you pull up, or down you push down. Now since I practice good horizontal bouyancy skills at all times .......does this mean that I switched to this BC it can act as a DPV :)

Read most of the thread...more extremes than middle...is innovation that scary, well yes. Fear is the lack of knowledge. Innovation is a leap of knowledge by those willing to try, not by those OK with present and past.

The one post comparing film versus digital cameras is quite right, and current. History has many of these transformations. Also has some failures.

What's really interesting to me though is if it wasn't for a couple of guys who invented, innovated, leaped forward with knowledge, none of us would be enjoying the very thing we love...please be kind to the hand that feeds you, may not be great food, but nourishment it is!

Hoa!

The BC in question is... interesting... food, I suppose, but the flash "demo" has *got* to be fertilizer. :D

(Actually, if we come up with a buoyancy simulator "game", perhaps fertilizer is apropos -- it's both... um... "processed" food and the thing that makes the next crop better. ;))

OK, so I just watched the flash video and YES, AL really does think you should add gas to a BCD to go up. Shame on them.....

They need to hire some divers.

It may take me a couple days to pump out a quicky, buoyancy simulator featuring the much maligned i3. I'm currently working on a flash project for my lab. Meanwhile enjoy my first attempt at flash:

Gurgle...........gurgle. Go invent, innovate, leap forward with knowledge.

Wow! I want to play ships and submarines :D. Don't know how much that is, but I'm happy with my knighthawk.
