Your postings, and especially the ones I have gotten in PM, have really helped out. I had no idea I was perceived the way that I apparently am on this thread and the board in general.

I will go into lurk mode in the hopes that will lead to a reduction in the amount of useful threads getting destroyed. My apologies to all who were offended..

Eric,

Just as there is no consensus on what's offensive, there is no consensus on "How O-Ring is Perceived".

Many people thought you were brilliant in this thread; others did not. I thought you were brilliant with the way you handled that imposter, the child who claimed he dived with the Rouses. Obviously some did not, because many of your excellent posts were censored.

There's no way you will ever get 100 percent support from any person, on any subject because your opinions are strong and strongly stated. But seriously -- you wouldn't want that anyway, would you? Mainstream is not something you aspire to, is it?

If you really do muzzle yourself, it will be a shame. (Although some people might disagree with me :) )

Please keep posting, the thought of you lurking makes me nervous.:D

But seriously, I think that some of your posts are hilarious, keep it up. Anyone that doesn’t like it or is offended has the option to use the “ignore” button. I suspect you are performing a public service by providing something to rant and rave about, for those that need such.

IMO splitting the tread was a great idea, it let the humor and serious discussion coexist.

Mike

P.S. I have two dogs both over 100 pounds. After reading the post I was attempting to stage mount the Akita, but have run into some difficulties. Hey Scuba 446 if your reading this, can I borrow some of the D-rings off your Mares?

O-ring, I love ya!

You ARE one sick puppy, but I love ya!

You might want to edit this...up to you. I am not sure where the "line" is drawn, but someone may find animals with illnesses just as offensive as dead ones.

i KNEW (hoped) you wouldn't go away!

Lighten up.........some people enjoy a little humour that is "not mainstream", others don't. You have the option to continue reading or go to another thread. This thread has even been labeled "dark & morbid humour" - what would that lead someone to think?

O-ring and Jep - you guys had me laughing yesterday....... your comments didn't offend me, but I guess I fit into the category of:
"many of the posts here are stupid, juvenile, sick, or all of the above. They are a reflection of the authors' intelligence and character, among other things"

Ah well

In response to my favorite buddy--Wreckwriter's last post seemed to tell everyone that I was being humorous about a fictional dead girl. If you would please re-read my post..there is nothing humorous directed at the little girl. In fact, what I was doing was painting a somewhat real scenario for MNScuba.

Some people don't want to talk about reality and thats fine. Lets all tell MNScuba that he will never be asked to retrieve a drowned 4 year old girl.

The world is a perfect place, full of divers with constant neutral bouyancy who never bump into a reef and full of free divers who never drown.

Such a happy place this is.
