Agree with keeping the waist strap lower around the hips. The shoulder straps should also be a little tighter than is normal for a backplate harness. The lower hip harness and tighter shoulder straps should form firm attachment points for the tanks.

Since a Sidemount harness does not have a rigid plate, it needs to be fixed in place by proper location and tension of the straps. Even with a tighter fit, the harness is still easy to don because the tanks are not attached until later.
 
I am going to start out diving two AL80s, and a single tank for REC dives with a 5lb counter-weight.
