One of my fav sites! I heard that the city is doing some construction there that may make parking ang beach access harder but there is always Divers and Crescent.

From the looks of it the construction is almost completed. There are still some temporary fences and construction barriers, but access is in no way hindered. We mistakenly parked at divers cove when we first got down there and it certainly looked like a nice spot. Might have to try it, after a few more Shaw's dives.

Like Divers too.

When you dove Shaws, did you find Shelly? You would know it if you did.

Is Shelly a statue by any chance? We didn't find her, but if my memory is right... I think I've read theres a statue at Shaw's. There's also a cool statue that MaxBottomtime put down at LongPoint "Old Marineland". Though I have yet to find her, seeing as I've only free-dove long point... leaving all my scuba dives at Marineland to the 120 reef.

Dude, forget the 120 reef. Take the extra 10 minutes to kick to the point and your jaw will fall off. It is outstanding!

that being said I did Shaws Thursday night and had a great time. The vis was outstanding.

I know.. I know.. Phil "MaxBottomtime" said the same thing.. and from what I've seen free-diving and from pictures... I'm inclined to believe you. SpKelpDiver and I are just waiting for that ultra clear day to make our way over there. Hopefully its soon:D

That ultra clear day was Friday ;)

Cody and I made the 30 minute surface swim and it was sooooooo worth it! Definitely try it out sometime soon....you will love it!

I was checking out the LOLA swell model and Thrus/Friday looked awesome. I went to check the spots out and the whole peninsula was flat as a pancake. Sadly my scuba buddy and my free-dive companions were all busy with work. I'm looking at the swell outlook and things are looking nasty for atleast 7-10 days. It seems you got the last great day before the coming swell. Looks like I might have to do a Casino Point dive if things don't get better on the mainland.

Ok, ok, it wasn't 30 minutes was it? plus, it was a beautiful day! I would also recomend doing the surface swim close to the shore in the shallow water if the conditions permit, It was great being able to see all the stuff below. It almost made me wish I had a snorkel.
