it does not surprise me that most men would look at this and say "what's the big deal?"

it sort of pisses me off, but it doesn't surprise me

let's put an almost-naked picture of a guy in the same pose on that website and see what happens?

(oh, dude, not here... do i have to look at that? come on, that's stupid ... take it down, man .... what's that got to do with diving?)

There's a difference between crying that it's immoral and supporting a boycott of the company and saying "man, I really wish I hadn't of seen that".

If salvo wants to put a naked dude on their site, I wouldn't be offended; I just wouldn't want to see it.

you kind of made that up, though...

the OP didn't say it was immoral. she just asked if you would buy from such a company

this is not an issue of morality or prudishness, which is what you guys keep missing

it goes beyond that when the objectification of a segment of your client base is involved

is this a dive shop or a lockerroom?

personally, i find the naked female body quite attractive. but is this the place to display it?

since i am a paying customer, i feel it's my place to comment on it, just as i would comment if the staff sucked or if they kept losing my tanks

This thread is in the Women's Views forum and the OP asked women in the women's view forum if as a woman if they were offened and if as a woman they would purchase products from this company. And rather than get women's views on how this ad would affect their buying decision as a women, we get 13 pages of people calling anyone who was offened a prude and people have called the OP all sorts of other unpleasant things. And 13 pages of men saying they wish they could have seen the add.

Remember as you post this question was posted in the women's views forum and the OP specifically asked for women's views on if it would have an impact on their purchasing decision

well, ok then

This is impossible and makes no sense.

It makes no sense but it will be a topic for some time. The same folks will post over and over. Yep, a few private pics showed up-so what?

mdb is a man or so his profile says. Most men like mdb say naked woman so what or woohoo send me that back plate.

The OP asked if they would affect a growing segment of the diving community ie women and if this ad would affect thier buying habits with regard to Salvo. It seems it is a big score with the men on the board, but since so many of them have chimmed in the original question asked in the WOMEN'S VIEW FORUM has been drowned out and it seems Salvo is going to get little market information on how this ad might affect the buying habits of women.

Again, look at the top of the page, this is the women's view forum and the OP asked for the views of women on this issue.

This is hysterical.....................in the clinical sense.

I am glad that in the WOMEN'S VIEW FORUM, I was able to amuse you. What I find truly hysterical is that in the women's view forum that men feel the need to take over the women's view forum and call the OP all sorts of names and anyone who was offended at it all sorts of names.

Just in case anyone landed here without realizing what forum you are in ----this is the WOMEN'S VIEWS FORUM
