Danke,

I'll see how successful this round goes - I'm thinking about it. No-one has actually received the kits yet to try them out.

Hi Ben -

Nice job. I know you're already being pestered a lot about making some more sprints sets, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to chime in - might as well join the crowd!

When you get around to building another round of sprints, I would also like 2 pairs for my Mares Plana Avanti fins.

Thx...Doug

bengiddins once bubbled...
Yep, these kits will end up looking like the ones on this page:

http://www.cyber-strategy.org/pers/FinStraps.html

except we'll be getting S hooks like Stone described, instead of tying wire off around the posts. Plus we might have all clear tubing, not black. So they'll fit the Mares, my Cressi-Subs, and any other fins with a 1/2" lug.

I ended up getting 18 kits, so there should be enough for any late entries.

Ben

Hi Ben
May I know what part no. is the S-hook from McMaster? I had already received soem springs from them.

Sure - 9378T24 - $13.05 for a pack of 25. Check your fins - the dimension "C" given on the www.McMaster-Carr.com website should match the diameter of the stem of the buckle post on your fin. 9378T24 is the 1/2" size open end S hook. I would have preferred a closed loop S hook, but the only ones with a 1/2" loop were either too thick to bend open and shut to assemble, or too thin and likely to be too sloppy.

on my Aeris Velocity's :D

And talk about fast delivery! I don't think I could have driven over and picked them up any faster (and I don't live that far away)

It took all of about 15 minutes to put them together, once I found my Robo-grips.

Best of all, I get to try them out tomorrow in Monterey!!! (Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me...)

Thanks Ben!!!

Just got my kit today. Thanks! I hope to have them on and diving on Saturday.
