I don't work out specificaly for scuba. All my work outs are aimed to condition me for every sport I participate in. I do a lot of running and swimming and that helps with scuba and others. But I work out everyday.

Like Paul says, it is important to work out for every aspect of living and playing. I do however concentrate a couple days a week to stay strong enough to carry my doubles and rebreather. Free weight workouts of the upper body concentrating on shoulder strength. Also I walk up and down stairs with my doubles on to target lower body areas I can't target independantly with weight training.

is to go scuba diving frequently---so I have been told. Seems to work pretty well:)

may i answer? i am a woman, although you never really know when dealing with internet identities....

lately i'm not getting enough aerobic exercise, but in the past i've found that lap swimming 45 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week works wonders.

i stretch daily for 30 minutes, and for the past nine months i've been lifting weights 75 minutes a day, two days a week. i've become a fanatical believer in weight training, especially for women. so many basic activities are so much easier for me to do now. Like carrying two al 100s at a time up the stairs to my (groan) third-floor LDS; hoisting 40 lb sacks of dog food; even bowling -- my average is up 10 pins because of greater leg and arm strength.

okay, i'll stop frothing. after mentioning casually that i can now do 40 push-ups. men's push-ups! :)

hth!

p.s. this thread is waayyy funnier than anything in "scuba humor".
p.p.s. when i'm not calling my women friends "babes" or "**tches", i call them "guys".

Scubaroo once bubbled...
...let me point out that WOMEN are also welcome to respond to threads posted in the "Women Only" forum. [/QUOTE]

inletsurf: well, she did say "guys"...

crazyc: Some of us did.
