I would not worry about a little brass exposed. With reasonable care , it will tarnish (darken) a bit but should not turn green or cause any problems as long as you can get the exhaust valve to seal OK. I believe the big foot lever will not work correctly with modern poppets. I managed to reshape one and got it working fine but that is not recommended. (Now I don't remember which regulator it was so it will stay that way. Ain't broke, Don't fix it.)I think new levers run about $8 but I did not have a source when I was restoring that reg, The way I see it, a regulator is a lot like a good pick-up truck. If you can stand a few scratches and dings, don't use it.

Sorry for the hijack guys, but it seems that some of you guys in this thread might be interested in this, since I haven't gotten even a tiny bit of interest in the classifieds section. It's an Oceanic Balanced Piston, Mk5 clone. I understand it is identical to the Mk5. The DIN fitting that is in it now, is from the TUSA Mk5 clone, and it comes with the yoke fitting.

Make me an offer if you're interested.

My two personal favorite pony/stage regs are a Mk 9 (a Mk 10 with a non swivelling LP port cap) and a Mk 8 (a Mk 5 with a non swivelling LP port cap). Both are shorter and lighter than their swivel capped counterparts as the LP ports start right at the top of the piston.

Thanks AWAP. I'm really not too worried about it. Just having fun messing about with my "new" purchase. I get a good deal of satisfaction from messing with - and knowing - my gear.

Looking forward to getting them rebuilt and trying them out it the water.
