As much as I despise the current administration, they didn’t do a thing to cause the current mess.

I don't know, they didn't directly cause this problem, but indirectly you could argue it. This administration seems to be pro-free trade agreements. While he was in the Senate he consistently voted for them. Add in the fact that he is also in favor of increasing taxes and other costs to businesses, it only encourages off shoring. Add those together they created they set up the pieces in place that could allow this to happen.

Of course the amount of politicians that weren't pro-free trade are a distinct minority. In fact thinking back throughout my lifetime only the last administration was openly anti-free trade.

One of the local shops I get fills at told me they’ve been backordered by ScubaPro for most neoprene until next summer.

Remember back when free trade was a tenet of the Republican platform, and Democrats were protectionist? I can't keep up with which side is for what.

Platforms evolve as we see the consequences of it. But the reality is that the corporate wring of both parties are pro-free trade. It is only the populist wings of both parties that is against it these days.

I can confirm that, at least on the retail side, things are sloooowww, still. Three shipments (two ordered from Germany a month ago and one from Austria 3 weeks ago) were supposed to be here this week. None has yet entered the USPS delivery system. One has been sitting in New York customs for two weeks.

Lots of common items at DGX continue to be out of stock. Hoses for example and of course new steel tanks are still in short supply everywhere. I too have heard from local shops that neoprene products have been hit really hard and are in short supply with very long lead times.

Y’all are barking up the wrong tree. There is literally no incentive for the shipping companies to fix this, as they are making more money doing the same thing.
