I too think that this jobs program has goon to some of there heads. I praise TSA that works. But power in some hands and you have this. It is a shame go for the SS *******

Mine's titanium... no problems with the TSA (after a hundred flights or so)

It also 'aint that hard to remove, though I would need pliers.

I remember them going thru my backpack closely looking for what looked like a knife. Couldn't find it anywhere, even looked in my waterproof smokecasse - nada...

You forgot one of the reasons we can't use our cellphones in flight is that if the airline allowed it, no one would use their seat-back-air-phones that cost $5 per minute.

You probably got a point there Although I can't remember the last time I actually saw someone using one of the airphones.

There is actually a very good reason they check your flip flops. I can't say anthing about it other than I was in a training session put on by the Federeal Air Marshalls that showed me something to be very afraid of.

Some things are going to make sense. Some aren't. Sometimes some of the things that seem really stupid are actually the ones that scare the crap out of me.

Why do you have so much animosity for her? What has she done to earn your disrespect towards her and/or her tactics?? Is she some Jezebel, I mean she must be some floozie if she has body piercings. It isn't like body piercings and tattoos are pretty common and mainstream nowadays.

They say that they don't but agents do profile. While I was still on active duty I went to the Maldives for three weeks with a friend who lived in Germany. The trip was during the winter months. I carried my gear in an olive drab flight bag.

Coming into Atlanta on a flight from Germany with olive drab bags and a really really dark tan set off some sort of alert. From the passport checker to the baggage claim to folks approaching me in the hall I was asked numerous questions as to where I had been, what kind of government they had there, what was my business, etc. etc. Finally someone asked me what I did for a living. I said "I am in the Air Force." "Can you prove that?" "Yes here is my ID card and leave papers." "Oh! did you have a pleasant trip?" Then after that no one else bothered me. I found out later that there had been an attempted coup in the Seychelles and they were looking for Mercenaries that were returning to the US.

On other flights there have been instances of folks carrying a pillow or stuffed animal and they were subject to search at every station.

It is my belief that the days of hijacking an airliner are passe. Before we were trained that the perps are going to negotiate it out and will let you go eventually. We were taught to hide our militrary IDs or Red Passports and keep our mouths shut. Now, we know that we are not going to be let go in the end so there are a multitude of guys and gals that are willing to beat the living crap out of a potential hijacker. If I am going to die I want to go out fighting and I want to foil some Dink's plans for eternity.

A sharp credit card or piece of plastic will do just as good as a knife or pair of nail clippers and is not readily detectable.

However incompetent that the agents seem they get special training and look for clues that are not revealed to the public. (Like why it is so important for you to remove your shoes) While professional terrorists can get through with determination, TSA does thwart the amateur who is just as deadly as the professional.

I do however believe that there is more to the story of the woman in Lubbock than we are being shown. We have only seen Ms Allred's side so far. I am amazed at how quickly the vultures latched on to the case. That should send a signal.

You want rude??? Go through the Montego Bay Airport sometimes.
