Hi I'm looking for a wing for my backplate
I will be diving with a single ten, but maybe later on with a double 7 so it should be compatable.
could you please share your experiences with me so I can make a choice.

thanks anyway,
Jelmer =-)

Be sure to drop by the Intro and Greet's area and let us know more about yourself.

For us to help you, can you clarify the "single 10" and "double 7"? That's some designations that many of us are not familiar with.

Again, welcome to our corner of the web.

ok sorry,
what I meant to say was, I will be diving with a single ten litre and a double seven litre tank(s) thanks Iguana Don.
And you were also right I'm from europe, the netherlands to be precise and I am wearing double 7 mm neopren wetsuit.
with a normal BCD I use 8 kilo's of lead, I have a SS backplate.
well, I guess that is all,
oh by the way Mike, where can I find this intro & greet area?

can't wait to meet y'all...

Hi

i am also from Holland and dive also with a double 7 and a wing.
What type/brand wing do you want to buy ? This is important! I recommend Halcyon and then Diverite Classic.

I have a Halcyon explorer. For the double7 you may use explorer40 or the older model explorer45.

here is my tip: if you are going to buy a Halcyon wing and use it for the double7, make sure that you buy the old model! So buy the Explorer 45.

These are much better for double7's then the newer models explorer40's.

But if you are going to dive singles: you could buy pioneer 45. Dont buy the smaller pioneers ! Because as you know we use havy HP steel tanks in Europe. ;)
You may contact me if you need more help.

good luck and have fun with your dives. Xerxes

p.s. That is alot of lead that you need! What is your weight and length ? With a double 7 and SS backplate 4 kg should be more then enough! (This is what i am using), and what is the weight of your double 7?

I use a Halcyon 65 lb wing with my double LP 195s and that gives me more than enough lift. I am thinking of going to the 55 lb. wing.

Hope this helps,
Eric

Double 195's!!!!! Dang!!! LOL..

The Halcyon 55lb Explorer wings work perfect with my double 104's.

As for the pioneer wing, don't you think that the 45lb wing would be overkill? Even with steel tanks it seems like a lot. I dive steel HP100's, and anything over the 36 just seems overly large. That's just my opinion though.

Hi list;

did I say 45? ;)

ooeeppsss. I meant 36 minimum. But a 45 could also do the trick...

But not less then 36! (and maybe if you want 45).
