You could try Front Beach as well -- right up the street from Back Beach and closer to town. There are bathrooms there and I believe there is a little snackbar right across the street, as well as various restaurants in downtown Rockport.

there is also good harbor beach just off shore is salt island [reachable from shore] ocean side of island has good lobstering

Can try to combine diving/family.. They can fish off rocks, picnic, go through walking trails while you dive.

(and Carry your gear to entry point!) Use your family as dive Sherpas!
