Check Dive Conditions Reports by Shaggie. He was out there last week.

Saw that, posted about hippie hallow, I'm wondering about Windy Point, I know its the same lake but I've seen times where the wind will slam against the bank and turn windy point to chocolate milk.

I was out there on Saturday, and the vis was really bad (<2, 2'-3' at best), not worth the $15 entry fee.

That is what is does on Saturday, the bank looked like chocolate milk. Have you thought about going out to the Shaker Plant?

Yea I'll hit the shaker some day, I would prefer to do it when its warmer but who knows. Anyone know if they care if you hang bottles off the boat and gear up in the water? Sidemounting 108's off of a boat isn't my idea of a good entry, and thats currently the extend of my options for diving dry.

Really wanting to get back down to work on the GTTP line, thats my main desire for windy point right now.

Thanks to Tlessard, I have a hang line to clip your bottles on before entry into the water if you prefer to gear up in the water or during surface intervals when we remain on the site for the second dive. If you want the bottles handed to you once you are in the water that is not a problem.

What are temps like and how low is it right now? I have a feeling its a bit colder than I want to dive wet....

I can't speak to the visibility right now, but you can get some reports from the Dive Conditions Report sticky thread. As for lake temps tracking, go to the Lake Conditions link at Welcome to Lake Travis Scuba. Currently temps are hovering around 55*. Current lake level is 658', lake is full at 681'.

Viz reports on Travis don't look great, but are as expected.

If I were to look, I'd cut for the bottom to see if there is a windex layer.

Otherwise, I'm looking for the lake to turn again a expect best vis in March & April.

Still too early to tell, but it's been interesting tracking it ;-)
