This past week on Wednesday, a friend and I went to Willow Springs in Richland, Pa. I have not been there in 15+ years and it is the only place locally where you can dive during the week this time of year. They also allow fishing, which is fun in between the dives.

They are not officially open during the week, but if you call them they will give you a pass code for the gate and you just fill out a release and leave them money at the shop.

The weather was great and we were the only 2 divers, with one other guy fishing on the other side.

We dove on the southeast end of the quarry, where there are wood and concrete docks with steps. We were trying out new drysuits and equipment, so we spent the first dive just getting our weights perfect.

The second dive started at a platform in 30 FFW and then we followed a line to the "outhouse" in 50 FFW and back to the platform. The vis was only 3-5 feet at best and the temp at 50' was 50 degrees.

We needed to leave early, but we will go back next week or the week after. Dutch will be open all week soon, which will be nice.

A few weeks in the quarries and then back to wreck diving in Jersey.
