In case anyone has any doubts left about why we don't dive after a rain for 72 hours, at least anywhere near a storm drain or river, check out heal the bay wet report for last week.

Interesting to see that Crescent Bay in Laguna, home of Deadman's Reef, had an A+ rating even with all the rain. I dove there on Saturday morning still a little reluctant about bacteria levels given how long and hard it rained, but figured I was pretty close to the 72 hour mark. There's a drain pipe right there on the beach next to the stairs, but I guess it probably only carries localized runoff and not too many toxins & poopies. Didn't see anything in the way of debris in the water.

I did three that day, no infections of any sort. How did everyone else fair?

Three dives Saturday... now an eye infection. But to be fair I had it Friday before I dove :) but it returned today with a vengeance!

I found swim goggles at Vallecetos last night. It was a great and loooooong dive. 76 minutes with 40 of that at 75 ft. Gotta love diving with the deco team.
