I hope this is not just a dumb newbie question. Why do we mount the tank to the BC with the burst disk pointed to the BC? From my training in pressurized tank handling I would think that you woudn't point the valve outlet towards you even once the 1st stage is secured. I know there is a reason for it and would like to know what it is.

Thanks
Judy

Burst disks are on the backside of the valve pointed away from your head.

Yep you're right. Ever make a post you wish you could delete!?

Don't worry its still early in the morning, just blame it on a lack of coffee.

On yet another point... I have yet to see a burst disk let go underwater. They usually "pop" during fill up when the tank is at it's hottest and highest pressure. They should be replaced with every hydro, though that rarely happens.

Depends on the valve. Mine has the burst disk opposite the knob so it's pointing to my left when the tank is in use.
