I'm the reason g3's term "Farm Animal Stupid" came about.. :)

But then again 2 weeks ago Erik showed my girlfriend and I, some of Yount's bubble pictures used in his VPM research.

It is funny how in reality deco theory is not that complicated if you sit back and think about it. Alot of it makes sense after a while.

It doesn't have to be that way as Rick has said....
But the truth is... they do... for most who use them...

Whatever fits you. Just don't try to squeeze me into it. <G>

I firmly agree with L_Y and PUG on the topic of people being complacent and blindly following what their computer tells them. That is not good for their bodies. I don't dive with anyone like that, but I have seen it on cattle boats in the past. People come up saying things like,"Man, can you believe it? I had to shoot up to 15 feet and do 4 minutes!"
I just shut up, turn around, and have another orange.

That's rich Sherp...
I'm gonna start a new thread just for you...
*Dumb things I've seen on cattle boats*...
I'll bet you have some good stories!!!
:D

Cause I can't find one that will do what I want it too.Period.As far as rec diving goes I'll be one of those lazy brain rotted idjets. When I'm in spearfish mode I never know what my plan is so I couldn't follow one anyway. If they made a programmable that was depth rated past 330' that incorporated multi-gas, VPM,variable ascent, downloadable and under $500 I'd buy 2 tommorrow.I like RickM's view......I ain't willin' to run programs 150 -250 times a year,it'd cut into the time I BS with ya'll.But for mix diving it's the only real option at this time.

Hello,

1. Dive computers Rot your brain....

Yup just like candy rots your teeth and masturbation causes you to go blind. Folks it's not what you have it's how you use it.

I don't have a particular problem with recreational dives. However, even on a tropical reef dive to 85', I would still use slow ascents and the very slow final ascent -- this will make you feel better post-dive, even on recreational dives

Take care.

Mike

Last month, my husband and son and myself went to Coz for 2 days. On the first day, we went only on a beach buoyancy check and a couple of afternoon shallow dives (50 and 40 feet respectively). On the second day we did a two tanker -- first dive 80 feet, second dive 50 feet. Did safety stops of 5 minutes at 15 feet on both dives.

That evening and the next day, my husband and I both felt quite achy -- not in the joints, mind you, but in the muscles -- and fatigued. Don't think it was mild deco illness as trouble was in the muscles, not the joints, and there were no neurological symptoms. I suppose we could just have been holding all our muscles tight because of the anxiety of diving when we hadn't for 3 years.

Any thoughts on how we could change our dives to reduce or eliminate this problem?
