Why do you have to attend Nitrox classes in order to use Nitrox?

I think that they should sell nitrox to all old geezers with a consent that say they will use it in place of air, and set their dive computer to "air".

What lamont said. And, as nitrox use (<50) becomes more mainstream, it's instruction will be blended into BOW courses.

Not likely, as that would cause a drop in revenue. As long as shops and agencies can charge for 2 separate courses/certs, then they will offer them as such.
