Why do many people prefer low volume mask?

It seems that many people prefer low volume mask which I think the only benefit is wider field of view than normal mask. But the big disadvantage is it tends to have fog easier than normal mask since lense is closer to face skin than normal mask. So what are the other advantages of low volume mask over the normal mask?

I do know one or two people that say their nose will not fit into a low volume mask.

It depends upon the mask. I have a protruding brow ridge, and I can't wear all masks because of it.

When I do OC diving either works fine but it is relatively warm water here. On CCR low volume masks are a benefit as the mask volume become part of the loop volume and we always strive for a lower loop volume. It all can be a personal preference go for what fits well is comfortable and what does not leak.
