Marc, i had the same thing going on in Crete in 98 for the World Cup - i cant recall what round we were in, but it was just starting the second half when we were forced onto the bus for the airport - we kept looking out of the windows into all the bars on the way up the road to see the last glimse of any action going on.

Sounds like you werte lucky there Marc- wish I had been there too!!!
If the unthinkable happens and England get through this round, I will be faced with a major dilemma- the playoff is scheduled for July 4th- when I will be in St Croix-
uh-oh-Diving or football......what a choice....have they invented undewater TV's yet?????

Actually- I reminds me of the playoffs of the world cup in 1990- I had to choose between fun and football- I deided fun and I was rafting down a river in Jamaica- very idyllic, but one of the group had a radio and kept shouting the updated scores down the gorge- was very funny!!!

If England play Portugal the way they did against Croatia, I think they could very well win. They're got to be wary of those set pieces, though.

My thoughts exactly. It wouldn't hurt to start off a little quicker next game - 40 minutes in is a long time to wait for a goal, especially after being down one after the first 5 minutes.

Beckham's got to practice his penalty kicks as well.

Marc

"Beckham's got to practice his penalty kicks as well"
its bloody criminal when he misses them with what he earns.

OK, I'll go out on a limb...

England 2, Portugal 1 (aet)

you reckon- wow, you have more faith than me- I was predicting 3-2 to portugal....I think they will take away my citizenship for saying that.....but I just don't see England pulling it off.
