Why 45 vs 90 LPI Inflator angle

Ill make a guess. the length necessary to function as an inflater makes it too long to breath as a 90. To put the mouth piece to your face when it is on the end of a 20" hose forces it to stick out like a be like a wing on your left side. with the 45 you can have a loop in the hose and the angle from the left rib to the mouth is close to 45". Makes it a natural ergonomic and functional fit. The inflaters lp hose is not free to move around as it is usually bound to the bcd/wing inflater hose.
 
I picture OW divers covering the exhaust on 90* inflator while trying to dump air. 45* makes this more difficult, plus it looks more streamlined.
