I don't pick (physical) fights. 'Sides, my SA 1911 . 45 ACP is my preference over a .357. Second choice is my H&K P7. Too bad it's a 9MM.

And if I knew that I was headed into harm's way, I'd do the smart thing and either avoid it completely, or carry a rifle.
