I'm in BC, Canada and am thinking of going down south sometime in July to do a cavern course. I'd take my girlfriend, but she's not interested.

I'm just getting the ball rolling here and seeing if anyone else wolud be interested. You dont have to be from Canada. We'd just meet down there.

My plan is do do the course (2-3 days) and do some other diving while I'm down there. So I'm thinking 7 days on a budget.

reply or PM me if you're interested

Where's down

there?

I talked at some length to Danny Riordan when we were diving with him this week about HIS recommendation for where to learn to cave dive. What he said matched the thought process I went through to decide to do it in Mexico: Caves there are shallow, so you don't have to deal with deco while you are learning, and there is little flow, so you can learn the procedures without being blown about.

I did my training in Florida and am glad I did. Probably the hardest thing for me was dealing with the flow. A diver certified in Mexico could have an interesting time in,say,Ginnie.

A course in Florida will give you a little of everything. No/low flow and high flow. At the intro level (1/3 of a single or 1/6 of doubles) going into deco is not an issue if diving 32%
