Cozoholic:
Anyone have any info on who makes the best Mojitos on the island? Ive actually never had one, but when Im there in June I'd like to try.
Why wait, when you can make a kick *** Mojito in the comfort of you own home:)

Here's Bacardi's recipe for a Classic Mojito, http://www.bacardimojito.com/default.aspx

I had been told that Guantanamera (a little dive above the convenience store next to Casa del Mar) was THE place to go. Don't go there. The mojito was very lacking on mint and the bar crowd was, welllll, interesting.

The lounge at the Hotel Flamingo was another recommendation, but I didn't get there.

I've been told the best ones are at the Cuban Restaurant, El Casino, but I haven't made it in there yet. I enjoyed a couple of really well made ones at La Cocay with dinner last week. Not too sweet, plenty of mint-- Muy Refresco y muy Fuerte!

The secret to a good mojito is to use key limes and whole bruised mint leaves. Keep your eye out for any bar that prepares them this way. The natural sweetness of the key limes realy makes the drink.

Had a Mojito at the Tiki Tok last week. It was quite a bit different than the classic recipe and too salty. Readers should know that I am not too picky, but it turned me off to the drink for the rest of the trip. You may love it, but I had to have a mescal to forget it. :) The signature drink (can't recall the name) was enjoyed by my compadres. Unrelated plug: Ceviche at La Choza!!!

You can get a pretty mean Mojito in many bars/restaurants north of the border now that it's the hot new drink among yuppies and hipsters. Cheesecake Factory makes a good one.

But to answer the OP's question- I do.
